In less than 2 weeks.. I'll be starting my first day of law school.. Can you believe it? I've been here for that long!! Its been 2 months... exactly today! August 22, 2007 - 2 months since I've arrived here in HK to start my new life. Its also my reflection time...
How do I feel? Hm... today a student interviewer came to the house to interview my dad on the social aspects of Hong Kong living. She asked questions in relation to how we see our neighbors, and whether or not we'd lend a hand to one another or if they'd do the same. Others questions involved things about the community. Whether or not we know about the free facilities.. or the lobby groups that are working hard for the people of the community. Another question links up to whether or not we find the power of the people having an affect on the choices that the government makes in our region. I've only been here for 2 months.. I have no idea what these answers are. However, she did ask this one question... "Are Hong Kong citizens trustworthy? Will you trust them? On a scale of 0 to 10.
"0" being most Hong Kong citizens cannot be trusted, "10" being Hong Kong citizens can be some what trusted. If you look closely at those the scale, and the words I underlined. The interview or the person writing the survey already answered the questions themselves. "
Most Hong Kong citizens cannot be trusted, and if there are any.. they can only be
somewhat trusted. I found that pretty interesting..
I've worked here for 1 month... hate it! Not the kids.. just the idea of how i'm teaching the kids or how they let me teach the kids. I guess its not the same. Its all about money here and the business. I wonder sometimes if they really care if the kids are really learning anything? I guess not?! I got there in the beginning feeling responsible for their education and really wanted to make sure that they learn something, now after 1 month I am totally senseless to whether they are learning anything anymore. Why? Because when I talked to my boss about the curriculum or how abouts I should go about teaching them in a better way... she's oblivious to the problems!!!
just so sad... so sad...
